DIRECTOR OF GROWTH & PARTNERSHIPS
Position Overview
Schedule: 30 hours per week
Typical Schedule: Monday–Friday, with flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend events
Reports To: Executive DirectorPosition Summary
The Director of Growth & Partnerships is responsible for advancing the Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce through membership growth, member retention, community engagement, event development, and strategic relationship-building.
This position serves as a key point of contact between the Chamber, its members, the local business community, city leadership, community organizations, and other stakeholders. The Director of Growth & Partnerships will cultivate strong relationships, communicate the value of Chamber membership, identify opportunities for growth, and help plan and execute high-quality Chamber and community events.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment and is comfortable balancing relationship development, event planning, communications, and administrative responsibilities.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Membership Growth & Retention
-Develop and foster ongoing relationships with current & prospective members through consistent communication, engagement, and development of valuable member services.
-Interact regularly with current and prospective members in person, by phone, and through email to communicate the value of Chamber membership and encourage continued investment.
-Develop and execute an effective new-member onboarding process, including communicating membership benefits and providing individualized consultation to new members.
-Identify and pursue opportunities to recruit new Chamber members.
-Build relationships with prospective businesses and organizations within the community.
-Maintain regular communication with members to identify needs, concerns, and opportunities for increased engagement in Chamber programs, events, & initiatives.
-Track membership activity and follow up with prospective, new, and existing members as needed and assist in developing strategies to improve member retention and overall member satisfaction.
-Help identify opportunities to increase member participation in Chamber programs, events, and initiatives.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Community Relations
-Build and maintain strong working relationships with Chamber members, business owners, community leaders, city leadership, elected officials, organizations, and other community stakeholders.
-Represent the Chamber professionally at community meetings, networking opportunities, events, and other functions. Serve as a positive and professional representative of the Chamber throughout the community.
-Identify opportunities for partnerships that advance the Chamber's mission and benefit the local business community.
-Develop relationships with businesses and organizations that can contribute to Chamber programs, events, and initiatives.
-Work collaboratively with Chamber leadership and staff to identify and pursue opportunities for organizational growth.
3. Event Planning & Execution
-Assist with the planning, coordination, promotion, execution, and follow-up of Chamber and community events.
-Take primary responsibility for assigned events, ensuring that timelines, logistics, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and other event components are properly coordinated.
-Events may include, but are not limited to:
-Water Tower Festival
-Hernando Christmas Parade
-Sunset on the Square
-Quarterly Luncheons
-Chamber networking events
-Ribbon cuttings
-Community events and special programs
4. Office & Administrative Support
-Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the Chamber's database/CRM.
-Ensure member communications, interactions, and relevant information are properly documented.
-Help maintain accurate member records and contact information.
-Coordinate with the Social Media Manager on newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, signage, and other communications.
-Assist with answering incoming phone calls and emails.
-Respond to general inquiries from Chamber members and the community.
-Assist with processing payments and other administrative tasks as needed.
-Provide general administrative support to Chamber staff and leadership.
-Utilize strong written communication skills to create clear, concise, and professional internal and external communications.

-Experience with CRM databases and websites is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-High school diploma or equivalent required.
-Some college or a college degree preferred.
-At least two years of experience in a similar environment, such as sales, communications, marketing, business development, customer service, nonprofit, or community engagement.
-Proficiency with Canva and Microsoft Office programs required.
-Experience utilizing social media platforms and providing event coverage.
-Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals and organizations.
-Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
-Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds or more as needed for events and Chamber operations.
WORK SCHEDULE & EXPECTATIONS
This is a 30-hour-per-week position, generally scheduled Monday through Friday.
Because Chamber operations and community events frequently occur outside of traditional business hours, the Director of Growth & Partnerships must be willing and able to maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional:
-Evening events
-Weekend events
-Early-morning meetings or events
-Community functions and networking opportunities
The successful candidate should be comfortable adjusting their schedule based on Chamber events, community needs, and organizational priorities.
